Choose!

I've never driven the Toyota, but the VW has a very weird driving position. The Fox steering wheel and pedals are dislocated to the right.
In Brazil, it has a huge aftermarket and lots of fans.

I'd take the VW Fox (also known as VW Parati in Brazil). You'll have a lot of options of performance and replacement parts from Brazil.

I'd have to go with the Fox, the 2 door estate idea really appeals to me. But I haven't driven either

Toyota, I choose you! I've never even seen that car, but awd, and old toyota reliability... done.

The Toyota, because it simply cannot be killed.

Fox is the choice for me, only because of the weird transmission, although the car is FWD, it has a strait 4 in it not an inline 4, putting the trans behind the engine and front axles.

VW Fox!
That engine makes 200 ~ 300hp with (too much) tunning and parts. It really can take a beating.

Toyota because 4WD!
